Night Concierge & Safeguarding Officer - Supported Housing
AGS Support is recruiting a Night Concierge & Safeguarding Officer to support the safety, security, and wellbeing of residents within supported housing services in Bridlington. This overnight role involves site security, welfare checks, incident response, safeguarding escalation, and accurate reporting.
About this role
AGS Support is recruiting committed, resilient, and professional Night Concierge & Safeguarding Officers to join our frontline supported housing team in Bridlington.
This is a meaningful, hands-on role where you are more than a night worker. You are a trusted presence who helps create safety, stability, and reassurance for vulnerable adults and young people. Every shift plays a part in preventing crisis, supporting wellbeing, and maintaining safe living environments where people can move forward positively.
As a Night Concierge & Safeguarding Officer, you will act as the primary overnight contact within supported housing services, ensuring the safety, structure, and wellbeing of residents, staff, and visitors.
Working independently, you will oversee site security, manage access, respond to incidents, and provide calm and appropriate support where required. You will also maintain accurate records and ensure all actions are carried out in line with safeguarding procedures and professional standards.
This role involves working with individuals who may present complex needs, challenging behaviours, or vulnerability. Some shifts may also require working across multiple housing sites on a floating basis.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the safety, security, and stability of supported housing services throughout night shifts.
- Carry out regular welfare, wellbeing, health and safety, and building checks.
- Monitor CCTV systems and control access to premises.
- Respond appropriately and calmly to incidents, emergencies, anti-social behaviour, and safeguarding concerns.
- Provide respectful, non-confrontational support to residents when needed.
- Identify and report safeguarding concerns including vulnerability, exploitation, self-harm, mental health, or substance misuse.
- Complete accurate handovers, incident reports, daily logs, and welfare records.
- Escalate concerns promptly and appropriately in line with safeguarding procedures.
- Work collaboratively with housing teams, support staff, emergency services, and management.
- Uphold professional boundaries while promoting equality, diversity, and confidentiality.
What we are looking for
- Enhanced DBS for Adult and Children’s Workforce.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Legal right to work in the UK.
- Previous experience in supported housing, homelessness services, care, security, safeguarding, or a similar environment.
- Experience supporting vulnerable adults, young people, or individuals with complex needs.
Skills and experience
- Conflict resolution and de-escalation of challenging behaviour.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and housing support environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive under pressure.
- Confident working independently and on a lone-working basis.
- Strong awareness of risk management and professional boundaries.
- Ability to produce clear, accurate, and professional reports.
- Professional, respectful, and non-confrontational approach.
