Night Concierge & Safeguarding Officer - Supported Housing - Oxford

AGS Support is looking for a Night Concierge & Safeguarding Officer to help maintain the safety, security, and wellbeing of residents within supported housing services across the Oxford area. This overnight position includes monitoring site security, conducting welfare checks, responding to incidents, escalating safeguarding concerns, and completing accurate records and reports.

About this role

As a Night Concierge Officer, you will be the key point of contact overnight, ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and security of residents and the building.

Your presence will help create a safe, stable, and supportive environment where residents feel respected and protected.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the safety, security, and stability of supported housing services throughout night shifts
  • Carry out regular welfare, wellbeing, health and safety, and building checks
  • Monitor CCTV systems and control access to premises
  • Respond appropriately and calmly to incidents, emergencies, anti-social behaviour, and safeguarding concerns
  • Provide respectful, non-confrontational support to residents when needed
  • Identify and report safeguarding concerns including vulnerability, exploitation, self-harm, mental health, or substance misuse
  • Complete accurate handovers, incident reports, daily logs, and welfare records
  • Escalate concerns promptly and appropriately in line with safeguarding procedures
  • Work collaboratively with housing teams, support staff, emergency services, and management
  • Uphold professional boundaries while promoting equality, diversity, and confidentiality

What we are looking for

  • Enhanced DBS (Adult Workforce)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Legal right to work in the UK
  • Strong communication and basic admin skills
  • Previous experience in supported housing, homelessness services, care, security, safeguarding, or a similar environment
  • Experience supporting vulnerable adults, young people, or individuals with complex needs

Skills and experience

  • Conflict resolution and de-escalation of challenging behaviour
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and housing support environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and decisive under pressure
  • Confident working independently and on a lone-working basis
  • Strong awareness of risk management and professional boundaries
  • Ability to produce clear, accurate, and professional reports
  • Professional, respectful and non-confrontational approach
